(I'm fairly new to Instagram! Feel free to join me!)
Of Thread & Pen, pen has prevailed in recent weeks—but as soon as it’s time to take a writing break, I’ll be sewing a springy something with these lovely Petal Lane prints! 🌷🌼💖 @rileyblakedesigns
Spent our last morning in #NOLA strolling Magazine Street—and paying a visit to the lovely Chateau Sew & Sew fabric shop! Such a charming, unique store run by such friendly, helpful sewists. A must-stop for any fabric addict!
The perfect start to a milestone birthday celebration! #nola #neworleans #arts #artsdistrict #louisiana #happybirthday #blankcanvas #possibilities #thisis40 (!)
Love the way this guy seeks out quilts for cuddling! 💖
Atelier de France by @frenchgeneral is almost too beautiful to cut!
I’m swapping quilts for books this week to chat all things publishing with the wonderfully talented Children’s Literature Fellows of Stony Brook University. Our first event was last night’s dinner inside this magical windmill, where Tennessee Williams once wrote and lived for a summer. Set on Stony Brook’s Southampton campus, it’s a New York literary landmark—and the perfect setting for creative inspiration!
What’s better than a pretty scalloped border? An entire quilt of pretty scalloped borders! So, so love the sweet simplicity of this design. Many thanks to @corianderquilts for her delightful Garden District pattern, and @modafabrics for those lovely Quill prints!
The first time I read Quiltfolk, I literally didn’t want it to end. I so loved the rich stories and stunning photography, I’d read a little each night, then force myself to put it aside so I could a read a little more the next day. I eventually reached the last page, of course, but luckily, that was just the start of a wonderful experience. I was beyond thrilled to be invited to write for the magazine, and my first two pieces are in Issue 05, available now! Grab your copy to read all about inspiring quilter @michael_in_boston, the Quilted Crow, and so much more in eastern MA. And for some behind-the-scenes details and pics from my first @quiltfolk road trip, stop by Thread & Pen! (Link in profile!)
True story: I literally chased down the mail truck—on foot—today when my expected delivery of @katespain’s Voyage fat quarter bundle didn’t happen for the fourth day in a row due to snow. Then, after explaining myself in between gasps of breath, I was told my package was at the post office five miles away—so I jumped in my car and sped right over. Crazy? I prefer dedicated. 😉 And just look at these beauties! The chase, and the wait, were so worth it. 💖
When I packed away all remaining holiday decor last week, our couch was left with four bare throw pillows. The post-Christmas sight was so sad, I had to address it immediately! Now brightened by these pretty winter blues, our couch has never been happier. Many thanks to @sew4home_diy for their Patchwork Pillow tutorial, which invites fabric fanatics to play with up to 22 prints!
